چکیده
In February 2023, Mw 7.8 and 7.7 earthquakes struck southeastern Turkey. Generating a coseismic 3D deformation field that can directly reflect the characteristics of surface is important for revealing movement mode seismogenic fault analyzing focal mechanism. Optical image sub-pixel correlation (SPC) only captures in horizontal direction, SAR pixel offset tracking (POT) obtains range not sensitive to north–south signals. Thus, neither them capture complete alone. Combining may be able allow monitoring deformation. this study, we used Sentinel-2 optical images obtain (east–west north–south) Sentinel-1 ALOS-2 data extract azimuth offsets. The least-squares method was fuse offsets 2023 Turkey earthquake sequence, which indicates two events were both left-lateral strike-slip earthquakes. caused by large mainly east–west direction. vertical small-magnitude uplift subsidence. findings paper as reference study

متن کاملQuantifying near-field and off-fault deformation patterns of the 1992 Mw 7.3 Landers earthquake
Coseismic surface deformation in large earthquakes is typically measured using field mapping and with a range of geodetic methods (e.g., InSAR, lidar differencing, and GPS). Current methods, however, either fail to capture patterns of near-field coseismic surface deformation or lack preevent data. Consequently, the characteristics of off-fault deformation and the parameters that control it rema...
متن کاملDeformation and Related Slip Due to the 2011 Van Earthquake (Turkey) Sequence Imaged by SAR Data and Numerical Modeling
A Mw 7.1 earthquake struck the Eastern Anatolia, near the city of Van (Turkey), on 23 October 2011. We investigated the coseismic surface displacements using the InSAR technique, exploiting adjacent ENVISAT tracks and COSMO-SkyMed images. Multi aperture interferometry was also applied, measuring ground displacements in the azimuth direction. We solved for the fault geometry and mechanism, and w...
متن کاملBuilding Damage Detection to the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake by Fusing the High-resolution SAR and Optical Images
High-resolution optical and SAR images are fused to detect the earthquake damage for the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. First, all the images should be projected and registered in a united geo-reference to get a superposition building ground features. The quantitative correlation coefficient from an Envisat ASAR image series was used as a rapid and direct way to get the degree of change in ground su...
